Granite Kitchen Counters with tile/slabs Description

Granite Kitchen Counters with tile/Slabs (http://www.VerdeUbatuba.com)

This is my first excursion into Granite (http://tanbrown.org) installation.  I'm doing a kitchen Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) with large Granite (http://tanbrown.org) "Tiles (http://www.g682.net) ". They are actually 12"x24"x5/8" Slabs (http://www.VerdeUbatuba.com) with no edge beveling.  I'm laying them on the Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) and (http://maplered.com) then up the wall to the bottom of the cabinets.  I have plywood topped with HardiBacker already down for the Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) s and (http://maplered.com) HardiBacker attached to the wall studs and (http://maplered.com) backed against the existing drywall. Latex thinset at the ready.

1) I really would prefer this to look more slab than tile with no real grout lines.  Since the edges are not beveled, I think this is possible, but I would like confirmation and (http://maplered.com) tips on making it work.  How do I seal the lines that ARE left?

2) I've been calling local Granite (http://tanbrown.org) shops to find one that can cut the openings for my electrical sockets.  So far, no luck. I can hand (http://maplered.com) le the cut outs for the sink, but the outlets are so small, even my smaller saw could make those cuts cleanly.  Ideas, tips?
